TITLE:	Direct Ordinance to Create Sunset Cove Channel Marker Operation/Maint Unit to Public Hearing

I.	MOTION REQUESTED
	Direct an ordinance to create the Sunset Cove Repair/Replacement of Channel Markers Operation and Maintenance Unit, to Public Hearing on April 3, 2018 at 9:30 A.M., or as soon thereafter as may be heard.

II.	ITEM SUMMARY
	This item will authorize a public hearing to create the Sunset Cove Repair/Replacement of Channel Markers Operation and Maintenance (Municipal Services Benefit) Unit and will create the committee associated with the unit at the completion of the Capital Improvement Dredge.

BACKGROUND AND IMPLICATIONS OF ACTION

	A)	Board Action and Other History
		Agenda items for the creation of a Capital Improvement Dredge project, along with a separate agenda item for the creation of the Sunset Cove Channel Marker Repair/Replacement, will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners on April 3, 2018. All of the channel markers will be replaced as part of the capital dredge project; however, the Coast Guard requires that a responsible party for replacement and repairs be listed for permitting. At this time MSTBU is requiring that all dredges include an Operation and Maintenance to meet that requirement.
