I.MOTION REQUESTED
 A) Approve Supplemental Task Authorization (STA) No. 5 to Contract No. 8631 with Harvard Jolly, Inc. under Solicitation No. CN190407BAG for Miscellaneous Architectural Services providing for design services for improvements to Lavender’s Landing Office Building and Parking Lot, in the amount of $189,900.00.

II.ITEM SUMMARY
Approves a supplemental task authorization (STA) to a contract with Harvard Jolly, Inc. to provide design services to improve Lavender’s Landing office building and parking lot.  The STA amount is $189,900.00.

Lavender’s Landing currently has 23 public parking spaces for vehicles with trailers and limited office space for staff. Improvements include remodeling and updating approximately 1,600 square feet of the first-floor office area that staff currently uses. Site upgrades include redesigning the flow of traffic in the public parking lot, increasing the number of parking spaces for boat trailers, adding additional lighting, and repaving the existing employee parking area. Renovations will also be made to ensure that the site and building meet the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This planned and budgeted portion of the project will be funded through the Capital Improvements Fund.
III.BACKGROUND AND IMPLICATIONS OF ACTION
 A)Board Action and Other History
On February 4, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners awarded Competitive Negotiation CN190407BAG Miscellaneous Architectural Services to eight (8) firms, including Harvard Jolly, Inc., to be used on an as-needed basis when the estimated construction cost is less than 4 million dollars.
 B)Policy Issues

 C)BoCC Goals

 D)Analysis
Lavender’s Landing has a two-slip boat launch facility that was renovated in 2009. Currently, the number of public parking spaces does not meet the needs of this popular site. This project will redesign the public parking lot to increase the number of parking spaces for boat trailers and add additional lighting. Improvements to the existing building will include remodeling and updating approximately 1,600 SF of the first-floor office area that staff currently utilize. Renovations will also be made to ensure that the site and building meet the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
