TITLE:Approve STA to Renovate Wheeler Road Community Park Tennis Courts 

I.MOTION REQUESTED
 A) Approve Supplemental Task Authorization No. 6 to Contract No. 8847 with AIM Engineering & Surveying, Inc. under Solicitation No. CN200224JJB for Miscellaneous Professional Services providing for Design, Engineering, and Construction Administration, in the amount of $209,916.00.

B) Authorize the County Manager or designee to approve the Supplemental Task Authorization on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners. 
II.ITEM SUMMARY
 Approves a supplemental task authorization (STA) to a contract with AIM Engineering & Surveying, Inc. to provide design, engineering, and construction administration services to renovate the tennis courts and restrooms at Wheeler Road Community Park in the amount of $209,916.00.

The current site has two existing tennis courts, a restroom, chain-link fencing, and lighting. The tennis courts are rapidly deteriorating and require yearly substantial funds for repairs. The current project includes demolishing the existing tennis courts to construct four pickleball courts and one tennis court, as well as parking spaces, a chain-link fence, shade structures, and a larger restroom. A sidewalk will also be added along the inside of the Boca Grande Dog Park fenced area.

This planned and budgeted project is funded through Capital Improvement Fund.
III.BACKGROUND AND IMPLICATIONS OF ACTION

  On December 1, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners awarded competitive negotiation CN200224JJB Miscellaneous Professional Services to thirty-eight (38) firms, including AIM Engineering and Surveying, Inc., for use on an as-needed basis, and any STA over $100,000 shall be brought back to the Board for approval. 

Facilities Construction and Management negotiated a proposal with AIM Engineering for the renovation of the tennis and pickleball courts located on Boca Grande. The proposal includes design, engineering, construction documents, construction oversight, and construction contract administration.
