| | | | | | | | | I. | MOTION REQUESTED | | | Adopt LeeTran’s Title VI Program effective December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2026. |

| | | | | | | | | II. | ITEM SUMMARY | | | Adopts LeeTran's Title VI Program for 2023-2026 in order to comply with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements under Title VI of the Civil Rights Action of 1964. Title VI prohibits discrimination by recipients of Federal financial assistance on the basis of race, color, or national origin including the denial of meaningful access for limited English proficient persons. FTA requires updates to the Title VI Program every three years. The deadline for submission of the 2023-2026 Title VI Program Update is December 1, 2023. |

| | | | | | | | | | A) | Board Action and Other History | | | | Prior versions of the Title VI Program have been submitted to the BOCC for adoption. This is a continuing effort to remain compliant with Federal regulations.
The Title VI Program is prepared pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, FTA Circular 4702.1B, "Title VI Requirements and Guidelines for Federal Transit Administration Recipients."
Title VI prohibits discrimination by recipients of Federal financial assistance on the basis of race, color, or national origin including the denial of meaningful access for limited English proficient (LEP) persons. Environmental Justice, a required component of the Title VI Program, guarantees fair treatment for all people regardless of race and income and requires LeeTran to identify and address, as appropriate, disproportionately high and adverse effects of its programs, policies, and activities on minority populations and low-income populations. |
