TITLE:	Approve Agreement for EMS Field Internship with Ricky Rescue Training Academy

I.	MOTION REQUESTED
	A. Approve an Agreement for Field Internship Experience between the Board of County Commissioners and Ricky Rescue Training Academy, Inc. for paramedic education and field internship experience. B. Authorize the Manager or designee to approve renewals of the agreement within the terms and conditions.

ITEM SUMMARY

This item approves an agreement with Ricky Rescue Training Academy, Inc., a local company providing EMT training to the public. The completion of a field internship is a requirement for certification by the Florida Department of Health under F.S. 401.2701. This agreement will allow its students to complete a field internship prior to graduation. Similar agreements are in place for Florida SouthWestern State College, Hodges University, and Braxton College.

		The Division of Emergency Medical Services provides opportunities for Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic students from local schools to do field internships with the agency. This provides opportunities for students to observe and perform appropriate Emergency Medical Technician and/or Paramedic skills under supervision during these field experiences. This agreement extends this opportunity to Ricky Rescue Training Academy students up to 6 one-year terms.
