| | | | | | | | | II. | ITEM SUMMARY | | | Amends and extends agreement between Lee County and Lee County Sheriff’s Office providing one full time marine officer to assist Natural Resources Division in areas of vessel regulation, fisheries enforcement and abandonment of property in the waters of Lee County. The position is Grant Funded by WCIND for this project and is included in the budget. |

| | | | | | | | | | A) | Board Action and Other History | | | | The Agreement between Lee County and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was executed November 18, 2008 under blue sheet 20081310. The first amendment to the agreement was executed March 20th, 2012 under blue sheet 20120210. The Purpose of the Agreement is to provide for enhanced law enforcement service for areas of vessel regulation, fisheries enforcement and abandonment of property in the waters of Lee County. The enhanced law enforcement services are paid through funding provided by the West Coast Inland Navigation District Waterway Development Program. The proposed amendment to the agreement will extend the term of the agreement and program law enforcement services for an additional three years through September 30, 2021. |
