	Informational Item Only - Enter into Minutes the Publication of the newly established county commission district boundaries.

II.	ITEM SUMMARY
	Complies with statutory requirements to enter the proof of publication of new district boundaries into the Minutes of the Board.

BACKGROUND AND IMPLICATIONS OF ACTION

	A)	Board Action and Other History
		On November 16, 2021 the Board adopted Map 5 establishing new county commission district boundaries in response to the 2020 decennial census. Florida Statutes Chapter 124 requires that notice of the new boundaries be published in the newspaper for two consecutive weeks and that proof of such publication be entered on the minutes of the Board. A description of the new commission district boundaries was published in the NewsPress on Monday, November 22, 2021 and Monday, November 29, 2021. The final step in the redistricting process will be to furnish the Department of State with a certified copy of the minutes with affidavit of publication reflecting the description of the boundaries of the new districts.
