TITLE:	Approve Contract Extension for Fencing Services - Countywide

MOTION REQUESTED

A) Approve a contract extension under Solicitation No. RFP160553DKR for the purchase of Fencing Services from Century Fence Company, Inc., V Enterprises of SWFL dba Smith Fence Company of Ft. Myers, Backwoods Clearing and Services, Inc., and Ronald A. Beecroft, Inc., from December 11, 2021, through July 20, 2022, as approved by the department’s annual adopted budgets.

B) Grant the County Manager or designee the authority to execute any documents associated with the extension on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners.

ITEM SUMMARY

On October 3, 2017, the Board approved contracts under the formal solicitation for the purchase of Fencing Services for a term of one year with three one-year renewals, which have all been expended. The proposed Board action will extend the agreements with Century Fence Company, Inc., V Enterprises of SWFL dba Smith Fence Company of Ft. Myers, Backwoods Clearing and Services, Inc., and Ronald A. Beecroft, Inc., from December 11, 2021, through July 20, 2022. The extension will allow time for a formal solicitation to be completed. This is the first extension for this contract.

BACKGROUND AND IMPLICATIONS OF ACTION

	A)	Board Action and Other History
		Procurement Management obtained proposals for the project known as Solicitation No. RFP160553DKR, Fencing Services for Lee County. On the bid deadline of March 20, 2017, Procurement Management received five submittals. After conducting an analysis of the bid submissions, all five were reviewed/discussed and recommends award to all five. Century Fence Company, Inc., V Enterprises of SWFL dba Smith Fence Company of Ft. Myers, Backwoods Clearing and Services, Inc., Walker Exotic Tree Eradication and Mitigation, and Ronald A. Beecroft, Inc. were the original awarded vendors. Walker Exotic Tree Eradication and Mitigation did not renew their contract in 2020 and are no longer a vendor for this contract.
