TITLE:	Approve Interlocal Agreements with Beach and Shoreline Funding Recipients

I.	MOTION REQUESTED
	Authorize Chair to execute interlocal agreements on behalf of Board of County Commissioners between Lee County and the Barrier Island Parks Society, Captiva Erosion Prevention District, City of Cape Coral, City of Fort Myers, Town of Fort Myers Beach, City of Sanibel and State of Florida DEP for seventeen (17) separate Lee County Beach & Shoreline Projects.

II.	ITEM SUMMARY
	Finalizes Interlocal Agreements between Lee County and the Barrier Island Parks Society, Captiva Erosion Prevention District, City of Cape Coral, City of Fort Myers,Town of Fort Myers Beach, City of Sanibel and State of Florida DEP for seventeen (17) separate Lee County Beach & Shoreline Projects receiving Tourist Development Tax funding in the total amount of $4,540,684.

BACKGROUND AND IMPLICATIONS OF ACTION

	A)	Board Action and Other History
		The Lee County VCB administers the Tourist Development Tax funding for Beach and Shoreline projects. In May, 2021, the Tourist Development Council recommended tourist tax funding for the seventeen projects listed below. The Board of County Commissioners approved this funding with the adoption of the FY 2021/2022 budget.

	B)	Policy Issues
		According to Florida State Statute 125.0104(5)(a)5, tourist development tax funds shall be used to finance beach park facilities or beach improvement, maintenance, renourishment, restoration and erosion control to which there is public access as those uses relate to the physical preservation of the beach, shoreline, etc.
