Lee County Utilities is planning to expand the North Lee County Wellfield with 12 raw water wells. This project will occur in two phases, each with six wells. The wells are required to support the current raw water capacity of the North Lee County Water Treatment Plant and the plant’s expansion to 15 million gallons (MG). The water treatment plant serves the potable water needs within the North Lee County Service Area.

Acquisition of land necessary for the well sites within phase one is complete and construction, including a raw water main, is anticipated to begin later this year.

The acquisition of Parcel 112-TCE (2,800 sq. ft. temporary construction easement), located at 18800-20 Nalle Road, North Fort Myers will provide the necessary area to construct a segment of the raw water main, which will connect the future well sites to the North Lee County Water Treatment Plant on Durrance Road. There are funds in the Utilities FY21 capital improvement budget for property acquisition.
