TITLE:Award Contract for Lehigh Acres Local Roads Resurfacing 2019-B 

I.MOTION REQUESTED
 A) Award Invitation to Bid No. B190436ANB Lehigh Acres Local Roads Resurfacing 2019-B, to Pavement Maintenance, LLC to provide roadway improvements, including, but not limited to, resurfacing, excavation, installing drainage culvert pipes, sodding, and striping for local roads at various locations throughout Lehigh Acres in Lee County, in the total amount of $1,140,000.00.
B) Authorize an additional $114,000 (10% of the total contract amount) in contingency funds to cover possible unforeseen expenses that may arise during the project. Grant the County Manager, or designee, the authority to use the contingency funds, and to approve the associated Change Orders, as may be necessary to complete the project.
C) Authorize the Chair to execute the contract documents on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners.
II.ITEM SUMMARY
 Awards a contract to Pavement Maintenance, LLC to provide roadway improvements, including, but not limited to, resurfacing, excavation, installing drainage culvert pipes, sodding, and striping for local roads at various locations throughout Lehigh Acres in Lee County, in the total amount of $1,140,000.00. This is the second Lehigh resurfacing contract of 2019, funding is available in the current fiscal year.

Procurement Management obtained bids for the project known as Invitation to Bid No. B190436ANB, Lehigh Acres Local Roads Resurfacing 2019-B. On the bid deadline of August 12, 2019, Procurement Management received five submittals. After conducting an analysis of the bid submissions, Pavement Maintenance, LLC was determined to be the responsible bidder with the lowest responsive bid.

 

Staff recommends awarding a contract to Pavement Maintenance, LLC to resurface local roads in Lehigh Acres in the total amount of $1,140,000.00, with a 10% contingency to cover possible unforeseen expenses that may arise during the project.
