| TITLE: | Accept Additional Grant Funds from the Department of Children & Families |

| | | | | | | | I. | MOTION REQUESTED | | A) Accept additional Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds for $45,000 from the Department of Children & Families (DCF), Office of Homelessness to assist individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
B) Approve Budget resolution to increase 2018-2019 budget by $45,000.
C) Delegate authority to the Director of Human and Veteran Services or designee to sign required grant reports.
D). Delegate authority to the Director of Human and Veteran Services to execute any future amendments that do not substantially alter the original intent of the contract including extensions to the effective dates.
E) Authorize Board Chair to sign amendments to the Unified Grant (HP18D) with DCF as necessary.

| | | | | | | | II. | ITEM SUMMARY | | Accept $45,000 in additional unanticipated grant funding from the Department of Children & Families (DCF) Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) bringing the total amount to $108,000. This will be utilized by Human & Veteran Services to provide services/assistance to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

| | | | | | | | | A) | Board Action and Other History | | | The Board of County Commissioners accepted the Unified Grant Agreement (HP18D) from the Department of Children & Families Office of Homelessness on 6-20-17 (Bluesheet 20170308) to provide services to address and prevent homelessness. ESG funds for $63,000 were approved; additional funds are available under the ESG component, which will be available when executed by both parties through June 30, 2019 (end of state fiscal year).

| | | | | | | | | B) | Policy Issues | | | ESG Funds provide assistance/services to individuals/families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by assisting with rent/mortgage/utility assistance.
Lee County Administrative Code 3-17 requires Board approval for all grant awards and Administrative Code 3-6 addresses increasing budget.
